Tangier to Chefchaouen
Leaving Tangier, we head south-east towards the Rif Mountains, gradually leaving the busy coastal area behind. The roads become increasingly winding as we ride through green valleys, traditional villages and beautiful mountain scenery.
As we climb deeper into the Rif, the landscape becomes more dramatic, with excellent views and some very enjoyable riding before we arrive in Chefchaouen.
Nestled beneath the mountains, the famous Blue City is one of Morocco’s most distinctive destinations, known for its blue-painted streets, relaxed atmosphere and unique character.

Chefchaouen to Fez
We leave Chefchaouen in the morning and head straight into the Rif Mountains. The ride takes us across winding passes and rugged valleys, with spectacular scenery unfolding at every turn. By afternoon, we roll into Fez, Morocco’s cultural capital. We arrive ready to explore its ancient medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and soak up the atmosphere of this remarkable city.

We leave Fez on quiet backroads and climb toward the Rif. The route flows through linked mountain passes, forested slopes of cedar and pine, and balcony roads that connect small Berber villages with wide scenic lookouts. Mid-stage, optional easy gravel connectors (road-only alternatives available) take us to panoramic viewpoints while keeping a steady, comfortable pace. In the final stretch, the landscape opens to the Mediterranean with sweeping descents and cliffside curves overlooking turquoise coves, leading us into Al Hoceima for a coastal finish.

Al Hoceima – Nador
Today’s ride takes us from Al Hoceima to Nador along breathtaking mountain roads mixed with adventurous dirt tracks. It’s the perfect combination of winding asphalt curves and off-road sections that showcase the raw beauty of northern Morocco.
In the afternoon, we arrive in Nador, where we’ll pass through customs and prepare for our return to Europe after unforgettable days exploring the African continent. Our journey continues overnight on the ferry back to Spain, giving you time to rest and reflect on the incredible adventure we’ve just experienced.

After breakfast on the ferry, we land in Almería and dive straight into the final ride through Andalusia’s wild coastal mountains. The route carves through twisting roads, pine-covered slopes, and hidden tropical valleys, with the Sierra Nevada towering on one side and the Mediterranean shimmering on the other. By late afternoon we roll back into Almuñécar, where the adventure comes full circle and we wrap up the journey with a well-earned farewell dinner at Andries Adventures.

Starting from the Spanish coast, this route takes you across the Strait of Gibraltar into a world of contrasts: from the vibrant blue city of Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains, to the winding coastal roads of the Moroccan Mediterranean, ending in the port city of Nador before returning to Spain via overnight ferry to Almeria.
You need a valid motorcycle license that allows you to ride motorcycles above 500cc. International Driving Permits are recommended for non-EU riders. We'll need to see your original license before the tour begins.
We recommend bringing your own motorcycle gear including: a helmet, motorcycle jacket and pants with protective armor, motorcycle boots, gloves, and eye protection. Optional items include neck brace, knee braces, and a hydration pack. For desert riding, a dust mask or bandana is essential.
While the tour is suitable for all levels of riders, it does require a moderate level of physical fitness. You'll be riding 6-8 hours daily across various terrains. The most challenging sections are the mountain passes and some desert areas, but our guides will help less experienced riders navigate these sections safely.
Our support vehicle carries spare parts and tools for common repairs. Our guides are trained in basic motorcycle maintenance and first aid. In case of a serious mechanical issue, we can transport your motorcycle while you ride in the support vehicle. For medical emergencies, we have protocols in place to reach the nearest medical facilities quickly.
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Many Western countries (including EU, US, Canada, Australia) don't require visas for stays under 90 days. We recommend checking the latest requirements with the Moroccan embassy in your country before booking. We can provide documentation to support your visa application if needed.
