Our motorcycle tours in Portugal

Algarve and southern Portugal

  • Algarve East to West in 3 Days — ride from Tavira to the Atlantic coast at Sagres and back, through inland villages and the Serra de Monchique. Skip the beaches, hit the hidden routes.
  • Tavira to Almuñécar — 4 days crossing from southern Portugal into Andalusia. Coastal roads, mountain views and off-road sections.

Full-country tours

  • Portugal North to South — 5 days crossing the country from north to Algarve. Goes deliberately inland, avoiding the coastal motorways, to show you the Portugal most visitors never see.
  • From Spain to Portugal — 8 days combining Andalusia and southern Portugal in one tour.

MotoGP and track-based

  • MotoGP Portimão Tour — 5 or 9 days built around the MotoGP race weekend at the Autódromo do Algarve. Exclusive paddock access, scenic riding routes in the days before the race, and premium accommodation near the circuit.

For riders who want to drive a car on the same circuit, see our Portugal car track days.

Roads you’ll actually ride

Portugal is a country where the best motorcycling is on roads that don’t appear on most tourist maps. A taste of what’s in our routes:

  • N-266 through the Serra de Monchique — the spine of the Algarve mountains. Continuous curves through pine forests with panoramic stops every few kilometres.
  • N-2 (Portugal’s Route 66) — 738 km running north-south through the country’s interior. We use sections of it in the Portugal North-South tour.
  • M-1003 to Cabo de São Vicente — the road to the southwesternmost point of continental Europe.
  • N-267 Cortelha to Barranco do Velho — a 10-km hidden classic through cork oak groves, almost no traffic.

    When to ride in Portugal

Portugal has a gentler climate than most of southern Europe. Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are ideal — green landscapes, 18-25 °C, stable weather. Summer (July–August) is hot inland but pleasant on the coast — our tours go inland deliberately to avoid the worst of the tourist traffic. Winter (December–February) is the warmest of continental Europe in the Algarve, with many perfectly dry riding days at 15-18 °C. The MotoGP tour is fixed by the race calendar, usually November.
